ANAW Acknowledged for Her Effort in Advancing Animal Welfare in Africa

During a courtesy call, ANAW recognized for her effort in advancing Animal Welfare in Africa and also her longstanding partnership with AU-IBAR. AU-IBAR considered ANAW’s strength in implementing the Animal Welfare Strategy for Africa (AWSA), a set of strategic objectives and plan for animal welfare established by African Union Commission (AUC) within the next five years. The strategy had been formulated through a consultative and participatory approach with African Members states, the Regional Economic Communities (REC) and key animal welfare organizations across the continent and worldwide.

The organization was also recognized for co-hosting the Africa Animal Welfare Conference (AAWC), a premier continental forum and convening point, now gaining into its 8th year, of annual discussions on animal welfare, environmental and wildlife conservation, human health and sustainable development, among other projects.
