On 26th and 27th May 2022, ANAW held a successful teachers' workshop with 49 teachers present. The key focus of the workshop was transitioning the teachers to the new activity book that will be used by the learners.
The workshop started on a high note with prof. Sarah Bexel, a humane education scholar setting the pace through her presentation on humane education.
On 27th , we started off with the teachers sharing the progress of the clubs in their respective schools including the successes and the challenges. Having a number of new patrons who have little or no knowledge on what ANAW does and animal welfare, Isaac shared with the teachers on what ANAW’s work as well as PAWS programme progress since inception.
Teachers were given an opportunity to interact with the new manual developed by the ANAW team. They were excited to participate in developing a new teacher guide by the end of the workshop. It was the first time that the teachers were interacting with the manual. Apart from what was on the programme the teachers got time to bond and have candid exchange of ideas on how they are able to deal with challenges in the clubs.
